Domaine Desom

Domaine Desom began in 1925 as a trading company founded by Peter and Albert Desom, who bought a historic building in Remich, Luxembourg. Initially, they sold products such as wine and eau-de-vie. The company expanded into wine production, developing two lines: Domaine Desom (wines from their own vineyards) and Caves Desom (wines from other winemakers). This transition to wine production laid the foundation for the modern, renowned winery, which continued to grow after a renovation in 2003 and is today known as for its high-quality wines and crémants.

The Desom family's wine estate covers more than 18 hectares, spread across the most prestigious hills of Luxembourg's Moselle. Although the estate has grown in size, the family remains true to its original values: respecting its heritage while constantly challenging itself to improve. The terroir is key, but true quality comes to life through the knowledge and dedication of the winemakers. Apart from the family estate, Caves Desom works with grapes from some 40 hectares, supplied by independent Moselle winegrowers.

Marc Desom, the estate's oenologist, has in-depth knowledge of the region and applies advanced techniques combined with manual work. The vines receive meticulous care, and the grapes are harvested only when they are perfectly ripe. They are transported in small bins to preserve quality and undergo manual selection on the sorting table. This approach ensures that every stage of wine production is carried out with care and precision, respecting nature and terroir.
