Quinta Santa Eufemia

Quinta de Santa Eufémia is a renowned winery located in the Douro Valley in northern Portugal, one of the oldest recognised wine regions in the world. The winery has a rich history dating back to 1864. It was founded by Bernardo Rodrigues de Carvalho, who started producing port wines. His passion for making Douro wines and port wines was passed on from generation to generation. Today, Quinta de Santa Eufémia is managed by the fourth generation of the family, consisting of seven siblings. Together, they ensure that a symbol of tradition and craftsmanship remains, with the family cherishing its heritage while looking forward to the future.

Since 1864, a family winery where tradition and craftsmanship meet in tasty port wines.

From generation after generation, a passion who stays.

Located on the south side of the Douro River, the estate covers 50 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are located at an altitude of about 300 metres above sea level and are planted on shale soil, which contributes to the unique flavour profiles of their wines. The vineyards are laid out in terraces, typical of the Douro region, which complicates maintenance and harvesting, but at the same time ensures excellent sunlight exposure and drainage.

Quality in all aspects, from vine to cork.

The vineyards are planted with several grape varieties, including some that have become rare in Portugal, such as Bastardo, Mourisco Tinto, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Barroca and Tinta Carvalha. Within these vineyards, the winemaker has created sub-categories based on specific colour, aromatic characteristics and structure, in order to make a specific Tawny Port from each plot.

Taste the heritage of the Douro.
