Lagar de Besada is a small and old winery in D.O. Rías Baixas. This family Bodega only works with the Albariño grape.

The grape variety

Albariño is the grape variety from the Galician Rías Baixas region, in the north-west of Spain. The humid climate makes viniculture complex. Nevertheless, the Albariño grows very well in this wet and cool environment. The small, thick-skinned grape produces an intense aroma and exquisite flavour, making it one of Spain's most sought-after and precious white wines. It grows well on slate or granite soils.
