Description
It started with a 'G&T
It all started at 1.30am on a wet and cold night in February in Manchester. As she sat alone across the room he spotted her and offered to buy her a drink. Her response was loving and simple "a G&T please". They then sat for hours talking about their world travels to their favourite foods. Not to mention... their great mutual love of gin.
All this was the start of a great line of gin that today is presented under the name 'Manchester'. They were already extremely proud of how far they had come after their humble beginnings. But now all the way, since Manchester Gin won its first gold medals in international industry competitions a few years ago, and is now winning many medals year after year at all the major worldwide competitions.
The 'bee
Not many people know that the bee is the symbol of Manchester. This symbol was developed during the Industrial Revolution because it embodied the work ethic of Mancunians at the time when Manchester was leading the way in manufacturing. Many organisations that have their roots in Manchester use the bee within their branding such as the famous Boddington's and the University of Manchester. When you walk around the city you will see the bee on all sorts of displays such as lampposts, dustbins, signs, buildings and in bars and restaurants. The bee in the logo is their modern interpretation of the "worker bee" symbol of this beautiful city.
