Description

The family business Schreibeis is located in the Kamptal valley in the village of Straß. It is a very traditional winery and today the third generation is at the helm. Erich Schreibeis; 82 years old, built the foundation for the winery 60 years ago. His son Eduard Schreibeis decided to stop his father's mixed farming and focused on viticulture. He studied viticulture and arboriculture in Klosterneuburg, Austria. He increased the size of the winery from 4 ha to 12 ha. Currently three generations work at the winery: Erich, Eduard and the next generation Edwin Schreibeis. Together, they are very focused on producing high-quality wines from healthy and sustainable soils. Edwin Schreibeis joined the winery in 2014. First he gained experience for 6 years as cellar master at the Sepp Moser winery in Austria. Then he went to New Zealand to broaden his horizons, where he worked for the Framingham winery.
